The rain postponed a dramatic match analyzed by contact with tennis picks from the second round of the Rio de Janeiro tournament. Marin Chilic and Gael Monfis had to leave the court during the tiebreak of the first set at 7:7.
At the start of the match, the Frenchman was brilliant and his rival could not find his rhythm. Gael made three breaks in the first set, and one of the reasons for this was the absence of Chile`s first serve. Croatia gradually started to play better, but it lagged with a break and 3:4 in the second. But he immediately managed to break the breakthrough, and a little later dropped two break points.
The meeting was interrupted once because of rain before it reached the tiebreak. In it Marin led with 6:4, but missed both sets and then saved the game. Then the rain increased, and Monfys raised his hands and said the conditions were not playing. The judge agreed and stopped the game, and seconds later a storm broke out. Chile`s Nicholas Jari eliminated Alberto Ramos-Vinollas after 7:5, 6:3 and Argentine Diego Schwartzman coached his compatriot Federico Delbonis, winning 6:2, 6:3.
