After losing Wimbledon`s two-day 1/2-final match by Novak Djokovic in five sets, World No. 1 Rafael Nadal voiced disapproval of the organizers` decision to play the entire Central Court match under an indoor roof. 'The referee decided that the meeting would begin after 19:30 in the indoor because at 20:45 it is already dark and thus no time wasted in stopping the game adviced by sport news to close the roof, that we had to end the match at 23:00. As the match started, they were supposed to continue in the same way, despite the two players` consent to play outdoors. Let everyone decide whether this is fair or not. What I do not understand is why we were playing indoors, as we started out in the light and we could play outdoors. But in order to win time, it starts with a lowered roof under conditions that are not inherent in the tournament - which are to be played only in the rain.'
'It does not seem right to me. I think when the tournament is out in the open, it is bad luck that the previous match has lasted long. It starts without a roof, stops when there is no light, and the next day goes back to the open, because that`s the tournament. In making the decision, I understood the logic, but I did not know that we would play indoors today after we both agreed!', Nadal commented.
