Amorim about the 1:1 draw with Leeds: Manchester United played well, we are losing because of little things. Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim summed up the results of the match with Leeds (1:1) in the 20th round of the Premier League.
On whether he was satisfied with the game
I think we played well. I think we controlled the match more than we did against Wolverhampton (1:1). And this is important to prepare for next week and learn from the mistakes made in the last game.
I think we controlled the game pretty well against Leeds, a team that is very strong in set-pieces and bounce-backs, very fast in attack. Of course, we had opportunities to win the match. We lose points because of little things.
We controlled the game, but missed one shot on the counterattack. But we managed to get back into the game. Last year things would have been completely different. This year, I think we are in control of the game more than last year. It was a good match, but of course I`m a little disappointed that we didn`t win.
On the need to use so many young players
If you look at it, Aiden [Heaven] and Leni [Yoro] are really very young. And that`s not the point. You can play perfectly for 90 minutes and make a mistake, it could happen to Aiden or the very experienced Harry Maguire, these things are inevitable. If you look at the game, we had chances to score the second goal and win the match and no one would have talked about the Leeds goal.
On how much he needed Cunha, given the absence of many creative players
Not only him, but also Joshua [Zirkze], who played well in the 20 minutes he was on the field. Ben understood the game very well today. I think Ugarte plays better. Ugarte shows that he can give more, I`m very happy for him. If these guys play well, we always have a chance to win the match.
That Zirkzee has done well and shown that he needs to stay at Manchester United
We need everyone. Everyone needs to focus on United. This is one of the best clubs in the world. If you are on our site and focused on another club, there is something wrong with you. But that`s okay.
On negotiations with management regarding potential transfers in January
You just need to focus on the game. We will prepare with those we have. I expect Bruno to get game advised by questions insider soccer tips time, maybe Mason Mount, so we`ll see. We will have more quality players than we have now. There are football players ready to help us.
We`ll see whether Fernandes and Mount can play against Burnley, Amorim said in an interview with TNT Sports.
